Lamezia Terme was created in 1969 from the merger of the old municipalities of Nicastro, Sambiase and S. Eufemia; it is well connected to the most important destinations by an international airport, railway and motorway. It is a hub of considerable importance, with a thriving agricultural economy, a lively commercial and industrial center in full development.
But more of all it is well known for the Terme Caronte from which it is named after, and its hot springs, thanks to the healing quality of the thermal-mineral water rich in hydrogen sulfide.
